Quite honestly I am the worst person to make decisions and keep my mind set on one thing. Some say a.d.d, I say… well I say I may have a.d.d too but that never hurt anyone. Anyways, when it comes to my favorite song there is no way I can pick just one so I’m breaking this blog into sections. Why? Because you are reading this and because you will continue to read this because I am so intriguing. Kidding.
Favorite song currently: Crash- Casey Donahew Band. It hasn’t been any secret that my last breakup hasn’t been the most graceful. This is the one area that I tend to have problems being classy in. I am usually the person to hold my head high and have a little dignity, break ups are my exception. I’ll learn one of these days, I’m 18, I’ll be as immature as I want. This is also a relationship that I never had support with. The friendship that it started as wasn’t highly praised either so now after four months I am getting several “I told you so”’s and “it’s about time”’s. “And I keep hopin that somehow I find my way out now that I can see that I’ve crashed” My music usually runs parallel to my mood, this explains things for me right now.
Favorite line in a song: Sissy’s Song- Alan Jackson. This song as a whole explains so much in my life that it is unreal. This song was played at the funeral of a friend who died when I was a sophomore in high school. Emily Conner, a beautiful angel that I only had the privilege of knowing for a few short months. This line however: “Feeling so lost inside, anger shot straight at God, then asking for His love” strikes a nerve with me. A lot of the time I tend to stay in the angry stage of grief with the loss of my Dad, and how can you hate a dead man for leaving?
Favorite song to describe myself: Guinevere- Eli Young Band. Yes, I’m going to use a song to describe myself. Get over it. “Forgiveness ain’t nothing but a lifeless tire on the shoulder of her soul, that never rolls” Another one of my weak points is forgiveness, I have gotten better at this in the past few months and I admit, it was long overdue. “She don’t hold on to nothing new, for very long. Yeah she’ll write you in as just one more tale and then, you’re gone” My mom has this on going joke that I destroy boys and she is left to pick up the pieces. It is true, every boy that I have dated in the past two years always goes to my mom after our relationship ends. Then, she develops a wonderful friendship with them and they always end up at functions and bars with me, which makes things super awkward when my next victim comes around. Morbid? Yes. Do I care? One day.
Song that I can listen to a million times a day and never get tired of: Drops of Jupiter- Train. No explanation, just that the song was written after the lyricist lost his mother. Enough said.
Favorite song writer: Brantley Gilbert. I will marry this man. A lot of his songs are sung by Jason Aldean because he can get the songs out to country records faster than a man who plays in a bar so I am calling him my favorite lyrical genius.
“Play me that song, play me that song you wrote about the girl who might not ever know how much you care or how much you love her. Play me that song, play me that song again because I like to think there is someone there who might love me just like that.”
“Play me that song, play me that song you wrote about the girl who might not ever know how much you care or how much you love her. Play me that song, play me that song again because I like to think there is someone there who might love me just like that.”
“She looked pretty in that fancy dress, but that girl was a barefoot blue jean princess”
“You aint nothing like your memory, at least it hangs around”
Song with the most memories: Mr. Hit Dat Hoe- Treal Lee. I know, don’t judge ha. I cant count how many times Audrey and I listened to this in the white stallion, Maggie, or Vivian… all three of these vehicles are currently out of commission so I’m not sure how lucky it is. Our football team also walked out to this song at several pep rallies and lets just say that year wasn’t Hemphill at it’s best. “Watch me get it, get it, get it, get it, jiggin like a muuutha f**kr” Seriously, who doesn’t like dancing to this song?
